Kimberly Varnadoe Kent brings years of state government and lobbying experience to the MG&C Consulting team. She began her legislative and legal career with the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance as the Vice President of Government Relations and General Counsel. She served as the Governmental Affairs Director and Assistant General Counsel for the South Carolina Department of Commerce. Kim most recently served as the Chief Policy Officer for the South Carolina Medical Association before joining MG&C Consulting in the fall of 2008. Specific areas in which Kim has legislative and regulatory expertise related to healthcare include but are not limited to scope of practice, Medicaid, healthcare appropriations, insurance coverage, payment and reimbursement issues, healthcare taxes, medical malpractice and tort reform, managed care, Certificate of Need, and professional licensure and oversight. Kim is a graduate of Converse College and the University of South Carolina School of Law.
