
Mr. Courie is a founding partner and the Managing Partner of the law firm of McAngus Goudelock & Courie, LLC. Mr. Courie represents businesses, professional associations and individuals in a variety of matters including contract negotiations, employment matters, finance and insurance issues, governmental relations, procurement, business development and strategic planning. Mr. Courie serves as general counsel to representative clients including businesses, technology companies, hospitals, professional practices and individuals.
Mr. Courie serves on the Clemson University Board of Visitors. He also serves as Chair of the Hammond School Board of Trustees. He is a Past President of the 1,000-member South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association and former Chair of Francis Marion University Board of Trustees and EdVenture Children’s Museum. He is active in the Defense Research Institute where he serves as Immediate Past Chair of the Law Practice Management Committee. Mr. Courie is also active in the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association, South Carolina Administrative and Regulatory Law Association, South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association and Columbia Downtown Business Association. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar in its business, government and employment law sections. He is a graduate of Leadership Columbia and Leadership South Carolina.
Mr. Courie also serves as President and Chairman of MG&C Consulting Services LLC. His practice in consulting areas includes state and local government relations, with an emphasis on governmental and business policy, planning, procurement and risk management.
Mr. Courie is a frequent lecturer on matters involving state and local government, business development, strategic planning and law firm management.
